About the firm and your first consultation

What areas of law does R A Lawyers & Migration assist with?

The firm offers migration law (including partner, skilled, protection, humanitarian and short-stay specialist pathways), family law, family violence intervention order matters, and conveyancing. If you are unsure which area applies, describe your situation when you enquire and we can help you identify the next step.

Where is the office located?

We are based in Dandenong, Victoria, at 137-147/8 Walker Street, Dandenong VIC 3175. Appointments and consultation formats may vary — contact us to confirm what is available.

What languages can I speak with the team in?

In addition to English, the firm lists Urdu, Hindi, Dari and Farsi among languages spoken. Let us know your preference when you get in touch so we can arrange appropriate communication where possible.

Do you provide immigration advice only, or full visa applications?

Migration matters can range from initial advice and strategy through to preparing and lodging applications and responding to departmental requests. The scope of work depends on your visa type and circumstances. We will discuss what you need before any work begins.

How do I prepare for a first consultation?

Gather key documents such as passports, prior visa grants or refusals, correspondence from the Department of Home Affairs, court orders (for family matters), or contract details (for conveyancing). A brief written timeline of events also helps. You do not need everything perfect — we can guide you on what is missing.

Can you help if my visa has been refused or cancelled?

Refusals and cancellations often have strict review or appeal time limits. Contact us as soon as you receive a decision so we can assess whether review, appeal or a new application is appropriate. Official information about merits review is published at https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/

What is a family violence intervention order (FVIO)?

In Victoria, an FVIO is a civil order made by the Magistrates’ Court to protect a person from family violence. Court forms and general information are available at https://www.courts.vic.gov.au/. If you feel unsafe, contact Victoria Police on 000 in an emergency.

Do you handle property conveyancing in Victoria?

Yes — conveyancing is listed among the firm’s services. We can assist buyers and sellers with the legal steps involved in transferring property, subject to the details of your transaction and any lender requirements.

How are legal fees structured?

Fees depend on the type of matter, complexity and the work required. We do not publish fixed fees on this website. After understanding your situation, we can explain likely costs and billing arrangements.

How do I get in touch?

Call 0410 924 003 or email info@ralawyers.com.au. Include a short summary of your matter and any urgent deadlines (such as a visa expiry or court date) so we can prioritise appropriately.
